Tickets

Don't you know 125 is the biggest speed trap in San Diego? I don't care if I'm in the car or on the bike. I do 65 on that freeway period. My brother in law got two tickets in the same day on that freeway. One on the to work, one on the way home.

I've been out driving around on sales calls all day and the cops are out in force right now for the Holiday. The ones that just make me shake my head are the motorcycle cops. I saw 6 of them today riding in formation on the freeway. But instead of riding staggered like is safe, they're riding side by side (which I know is standard for them but that still doesn't make it safe) and 3 rows deep. There wasn't more than 4 feet between them. And to top it off, they were tailgating the hell out of a car in the #2 lane when the fast lane was completely open. All of this wearing half helmets, short sleeves, and nothing especially safe for pants. And they give us tickets for unsafe riding? :shakehead:

isnt it illegal to ride like that (maybe not in cali.).

the only time around here that i see that is when there is a group for a funeral and they have two cops in the front and the back.

how'd this thread get revived? :)

i do agree that it's a bit odd that motorcycle cops usually wear only their uniforms and short sleeves when riding... i guess there is no official protection gear for them?

True!

One of my buddies is a motor cop for the CHP... I think it has to do w/ the fact that they're professionals, plus most California drivers are SUPER aware of CHP on bikes... not as likely to get hit?

Just my two cents...

I've seen two FHP cops here ride side by side while talking to each other on radio and facing each other...

I think it has to do with their lights on their bikes, I bet if it was legal to run neons all the time while strobing or flashing we would be seen.

Does anyone have experience with what lawyers can do? just got three citations at once the other day in West Palm Beach, FL. Following too closely - $166, Improper Passing - $166, and my favorite; Speeding - 80MPH in a 45MPH zone :( have to go to court for the last one.

These are my first citations in 3 years. Never been to traffic school. What do you think??
