how does it work? Do you get it on top of whatever you pay at the dealer, like a rebate?

In my case,the dealer took the rebate off( $1100,,CDN) list price,then took off an extra $200 and then took off 1/2 the PDI. So grand total he discounted the bike by $1550.00 CDN.

it depends on the dealer.... i found they set their own prices... the 09 in my area sold anywhere from 5149 to 6499 you have to do your research if you want to save more money.

my rebate from yamaha went from 200 dollars to 700 on the 14th of july... not sure if it's still in effect.
