I'd heard of the "Wild Man of Borneo" before, is this where the story comes from ?

The downed airmen had to be moved away from the newly Christian part of Bornea because the locals couldn't lie (to save a life) under questioning. Sounds like there were a lot of charismatic characters in this story. Some of the natives look a bit like Flea out of Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
History shows the conquerers always had to behave to a high standard otherwise the locals get the shits.
