A bruised brain is nothing to mess with. That causes swelling within the skull causing increased intracranial pressure. Be thankful you don't have tubes draining your head or had to have part of your skull surgically removed.
Scary to think you suffered an internal head injury wearing an approved helmet. I could understand a concussion but not internal skull injuries

Sounds unnerving as hell, man! Glad you're still around to type about it! 
Yes. I saw your bike and thought "crap," but the service guy said you were ok. Then I thought "hey, that tinted windscreen looks nice, I wonder if he'll want to sell if if the bike's totalled
And then I watched a guy ride off on his R6 wearing sneakers, basketball shorts, and a tank top. I wonder if he saw your bike too.DANG!!!! Scary stuff!!! Its a small miracle that no broken bones going that speed (as mentioned above) and good to here that there were no other injuries, although a concussion that knocks you out for several minutes is a pretty big deal.. and the bruise. Good luck, praying for a speedy recovery for you!!
Thanks everyone. Just got back from a Dr. visit and thought I'd update some injuries. Had X-rays on my shoulder, hip, and toes. Dr. thinks my clavicle is broken, my hip has issues, and my pinky toe on my left foot might be broken. Waiting for the results. Spent all day talking with insurance companies and doctors. Time to sit back and relax a little. back to the doctors Monday. Not sure when they will let me return to work. As for my wife, she understands that I'm a rider. Will I ride again? Tough to get it out of my blood, been riding since I was 16. I'm 44 now, you do the math. Again, thanks for all the well wishes. If I can convince one rider on here to ATGATT, then my goal is achieved. I will let you all know how this plays out.

wow man thats a crazy story! i hope you recover quickly the bike doesn't look to bad and that helmet is definitely one to keep as both a reminder and a trophy!!
Man, glad you're no more injured than you are. Well wishes and a speedy recovery. It's been said so many times, but it always rates saying it again, Thank GOD you had the gear on! What a frickin' mess that would have been without it. It's just a split second, nothing the rider is even aware of, and BOOM!
The concussion is either no big deal or really serious. Your doctor(s) and time will tell. Concussions can definitely happen in a helmet. The brain is a semi-liquadous mass, suspended in liquid. A seriously sharp knock on the side of the skull and momentum comes into play, squishing everything to one side, against the inside of the skull. Hence the "bruise" on the brain, or concussion.
Had there been no helmet in the above circumstance? Well, we won't go there, LOL.
Your helmet definitely did it's job. I would consider double-checking the fit on the next, though. I'm not saying you don't know how to fit a helmet. I'm saying that the kind of knock it takes to concuss a person wearing a helmet is pretty rare, without a butt-ton of other injuries, unless the helmet was a little loose on the head. It can definitely happen, it's just rare.
Food for thought. Again, I'm glad you were ATTGATT and therefore here to tell us the story, and even more glad you seem to be relatively OK. Cheers, Rider! :thumbup:

Glad your gear held up and your ok, hope your insurance comes through for you and you get your money to fix your bike. Take care and hope you will be riding again soon.
Wow man, that sounds a lot like what happened to me a couple months ago. Glad that you are mostly ok, the highway is a very dangerous place. Speedy recovery hopefully for you.
