Verify Restrictor plates once and for all

Ive heard alot of conflicting info. Once and for all. Do all Fz6r's have restrictor plates or ONLY the australian or (UK) models. way back when I first came here I heard only overseas bikes have them and use bikes done. now back a little bit and still seeing it talked about. Im just looking for final verification on this. thank you all. GOOD to be back.

FINALLY gonna bite the bullet and do exhuast mod. the bike too quiet for me.

To my knowledge, neither the FZ6R nor the XJ6 use restrictor plates in the throttle bodies. I've seen no mention of them in the parts diagrams. What is often called a restrictor in the forums for the Aussies is a device that affects the travel of the throttle itself.

Australian bikes have a throttle restrictor which gives them a lower power to weight ratio so they classify as a learners bike. It use to be we were limited to 250cc for the first 3 years but ninjas and the like got that quick they changed to power to weight ratios instead.

Also, some manufactures program 2 sets of maps to the ecu with one set being the restricted version, cutting a wire to the ecu changes the bike to the unrestricted maps.
