two finger shifting

I'm trying to set my stock clutch lever to be able to shift with 2 fingers, instead of the 4 i'm normally used to using. I know that if I were to upgrade to shorty levers this would be easier but right now I only have the stock. I've adjusted the tensioner near the clutch lever but i'm afraid that I could be doing damage to my clutch or whatnot

any insight?

IMHO just shift with two, shift with whole hand, hell why even use the clutch?

-it all works and doesn't make much diffence either way you choose

I understood the adjustment was only to the lever -relative to hand grip sizes.
Other wise you would be adjusting how much the clutch engaged/ disengaged, thus rendering the clutch action pointless

I only have lever adjustment on my front brake, not on my clutch. I wouldn't mess with things until you understand them. Friend of mine ended up snapping a clutch cable that way.

I think someone else was talking about this. Last week I tried 2 finger shifting on the FZ. My last bike wouldn't do it at all since the clutch started engaging as soon as the lever moved off the grip. On this bike, at least the way mine is setup, 2 finger shifting works. However, the clutch disengages and re-engages pretty much as soon as it leaves my bulky winter glove wrapped fingers. If I had a little more play in it, I'd 2 finger clutch all the time. I'll probably do it with my summer gloves. For now, the re-engagement is too sudden for me. If I loosen my grip at all it starts grabbing.

Just my 2 cents. Y'all do what y'all want :D

Just get shorty levers, there's really not a good way to do it on the stock levers.

Even with shorty levers, I still mostly use all my fingers to clutch... no real advantage to use 2 vs 4 fingers, unless it's freezing cold and I'm trying to keep my fingers on the heated grips :cool:

you could always adjust your clutch cable and shave your lever down. but shorty levers look better and perform that function as intended

Why is it so important to you that you shift with 2 fingers?
