Got a late start, at almost 38 yrs old, I've been riding for about 6 months. I will definitely encourage my kids to consider it in their younger years (well, once they are 18 that is).

Oh yeah, and that's 6 months with >8000 miles... I'm a commuter and not a fair weather rider either, day I picked up the bike I had to ride home in 40mph gust winds and a downpour.

34 years on two wheels but I did take about 12 years off in the middle because the children was my #1 priority and the toys for them vs. for me was more important. As soon as the twins turned 18, I ran out and bought a new bike.

31 years of street legal, couple more straight dirt before that. Couple days after turning 16 had car license, week later MC endorsement. Took about 15 years off when kids were young though.
