The easy way to change frame?

Well, seems like I will have to go whole nine yards on that repair. So the question is: How to replace the frame with least parts disablement? Swing arm will go with a wheel and everything, so as the fork, anything else? Any way to pull the engine completely?

Eww I hate frame swaps. Pull the motor in 1 piece and then the wiricing harness. Install wiring harness first on new frame then do the swing arm and front forks so its not so heavy to lift up with the engine in it. Then do the engine and after that do the tank and seats then do the front fairing then the insturment cluster panel then handle bars mirrors and foot pegs. Good luck

I've done a strip-to-frame all of two times. Never with a bike newer than 1982. The only advice I can offer is keep separate containers for all the bolts. A container for each section helps a lot, when you're trying to put it back together.

The other thing is, take pictures! Lots of them. There's so many parts it's pretty easy to forget exactly how this thing fit into that thing. I usually skipped that step, and always wished I had a simple picture to show how things were fitted.

Beyond that, that's why I love working on bikes and hate working on cars. I can strip a bike to frame, with some tools, beer and time. Then I can put it back together, with some tools, more beer and time.

Bikes are pretty easy in my opinion. Separate containers for parts, by section, and lots of pics. The only big downside is you'll always be wondering if that's a new noise or vibration, of it was there before.
