Suzuki SV1000S...???

CanadianFZ6, tell us more about the Bandit please? I know it's a great road warrior for touring but what is is capable of in the corners? How adjustable is the suspension?

Thanks!

I call BS!!!!!!!!! :D

Lol....ok a couple of things....maybe a power commander, and some heated grips!!!

Took the bike for a ride today...felt slow till i looked at the instruments....loads of torque, and sounds like it's just ticking over, when it's actually going hard...very v twin.

Liked it a lot, Lazy Fast is what i was looking for...not peakey fast....have put in an offer to the owner re price....waiting for him to get back to me....

Also rode the Mulitstrada, did not like it at all, was gutless in comparison, and felt top heavy.

A lot of bikes will seem gutless once you have ridden a SV1000s. There is respectable thrust available from 2500 rpm, and it just builds from there. Watch your speed, with the tall gearing it is very easy to run 60mph though town (30mph speed limit). The only way to get a bike with more torque is to get a Kawasaki VN2000 (Vulcan). The SV could make a decent touring bike, just get rid of the clip ons. You will love the SV.

I would like to see more companies make V twin sport touring bikes. The drone of a larger Four cylinder can get old after long days. The old Ducati ST3 was one of the best bikes I have ever ridden, powerful, great handling, decent ergos and drop dead gorgeous looks. I wish Suzuki would have gone that direction with the Vstrom, instead of a KTM Adventure wannabe.

I have to agree, the SV is a deceptively fast bike, after riding it the other day, i am still in disbelief over it's ability to reach go jail speeds without the rider really noticing...great bike, just trying to screw them for a decent deal right now....fingers crossed!

I wonder why it's not listed on the US Suzuki website anymore.

They're very nice looking, good luck!

Discontinued for 09! Yeah, it sucks. I've ridden one, even owned a 650s. The 1000 is pretty good. Steering damper sucks on it though. And your wrists kill after abount an hour.

i want a bigger sport touring too. i want one of these:

both of those are actually much larger physically than the fizzer, but they remain very sporty. the triumph is a triple and is quite torquey and fun. honestly the sv1000 would be a good bike too, i just dont like how it is smaller than these two. If i didnt own a fizzer and wanted a bigger sport touring then i could live with deciding to get the sv1000. but since i already have a fizzer, why get something only marginally bigger physically?

I haven't riden any of them but I keep hearing less than gloryfying comments on the abilities of the VFR in the twisties. But they look great

I have looked at both these bikes, and like them both, but i want a V Twin, but without the high service, and running costs of a Ducati.

I am also not a fan of physically bigger bikes, i like light weight, and something that is not too hard to wrestle.

But then, the other options on my list, is a Kwaka ZX12R , or a Honda Blackbird....both of these are huge, but fit the mega blaster roll brilliantly, and i just dont know whether i want a torquey V Twin, or one of these things....Guess it's gonna come down to what deal i can sort, and whatever i get, i can get the other later, down the track....when i feel like a change....decisions, decisions!
