Stock exhaust is taking a piddle on my floor.

I started my 6R after switching back to the stock exhaust and after just warming it up it started leaking quite a bit of water from the bottom of the exhaust. My Two Bros never did that, so why is the stock one?

I should mention that it was less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit and the tank still has the Stabil in it from winter storage. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Anyone have an explanation?

I should say that my theory is that it's because of the temperature causing condensation, perhaps combined with the fuel stabilizer. Just surprised at how much is coming out.

I didnt realise you still had her,

My XJ6S did dribble condensation on cold mornings with the stock box on. Since having the Viper I dont remember seeing it happen

I'm actually selling her today.

The water pooling under her is a bit of a concern to the prospective buyer.

drain the tank, put fresh new in. if you have time, pull the exhaust and check it... bet after all that it prob. won't again - crossing fingers for you!

mine did that a few months ago. it was on a cold morning, somewhere in the 40s. i noticed the puddle, same amount as what is in your picture. i then noticed the tiny hole on the bottom of the muffler box. i called my mechanic and he said that it was just condensation and that the hole is there for that purpose, to allow condensation like that to leak out.

i never winterized my bike, just ran it every now and again to keep it fresh. so i didn't have any fuel stabilizer in it. i doubt that is a causing factor as that seems to be the only difference between our situations yet mine behaved the same as yours.

yeah, water, just plain water, just good ol condensation... now if it had oil or antifreeze in it, then... yeah...
