This site's membership continues to grow at an amazing rate. For the newer members I want to explain what "repping" is. It begins with the hourglass icon below the poster's name.
In the most basic sense, "repping" adds to that member's reputation on this site. In a nutshell it means that if a member has a high rep, then they have given useful advice lots of times and you, as a site user, can expect that the advice given to a question has been given by someone who the community votes as knowledgeable. That's good info.
All members of this site can rep others. If you agree that what they've said is awesome, go ahead and rep that person. It's kind of like "Employee of the Month." It means "you done good" and it feels good to get it.
Don't spam it though. Repping is a serious responsibility. You are telling every other reader of this site that the person you repped had a very good answer to a user's post, or just a great post in general. Don't rep lightly.
No repping for THIS post. It's just info.
