Radiator fan died and lots of swearing

2013 Fz6r bought March 30,2014.

Fan died yesterday causing the bike to overheat and cause coolant to overflow.

I'm so upset that the warranty just went out and the fan died. It's a $400 fan WTF!!!!
It's also one of the hardest things to get off EVER! It took me three hours to just get the bolts removed off the fan, and another two hours trying to disconnect it as the factory decided to put the connector inside the frame!

I have no clue how I am getting the new one back in there but just a mini rant to anyone who had this issue I will keep you in my thoughts.

I had that item watched since yesterday. Finally got around to testing the fan with a 12v battery. Nothing happens. it makes a tick noise when I spin it.

I bought that $60 fan and I hope it will last. Anyone know if it would be easier if I took or loosened the radiator if this install would be easier? And would it just be the bolt at the top and the bolt at the bottom?

And the final question. While I'm here should I change my coolant to better coolant? My bike gets to 217 almost daily and then shifting gets very clunky!

I have had my FZ6R for 4 seasons, ridden it nearly 40,000 kms and have never seen 217°. However, this high temp could be because of your faulty fan. My fan always comes on at 210° and will sometimes creep up to 212° before dropping. Once back down to 200°, the fan shuts off. Check your radiator fins for dirt or damage, if air can't go through it efficiently, that could also be why it runs hot.

Same here, don't think I've ever seen 217 even at a standstill on 90+ days and my bike is all black. I do wanna change out fluid even though I don't need to. I wanna put some engine ice in there.
