Puig tire hugger and trex spool adapters

I was very hesitant to purchase the Puig tire hugger in fear of the trex spool adapter and tire hugger having fitment problems.

Well, I went ahead and purchased the hugger (already had the spools on) and, yes, the spool adapter is in the way of the hugger.

I just simply sawed off some of the hugger to make room for the spool. This post is more for a warning to others that you'll need to cut the hugger if you have those spool adapters.

But it sure does look sweet

Found this while looking for info on spools. Looks like I found my answer on what to do about rear spools on this bike (I haven't picked it up from the dealer yet) but again raised the question in my mind... what is the benefit of the Puig Tire Hugger? I'd like a tire hugger that, after installing an FE kit, prevents spray from the tire from leaving a dirty stripe on the back of my jacket. Where can I find such a thing?
