couldnt believe this. Rider looks almost shocked like "holy shit whats that cop doing?". I am curious to know if he knew he was being followed or if he eluded them and thought he was free and clear and it scared him down the road when he was casually riding and wasnt "free"

I watched the chase live on TV. dude definately knew he was still being chased. He was riding like an asshat pretty much up until the end. He'd been at it for 40 minutes, there's a good chance he was getting pretty low on gas, so when the cop pulled in front, he probably just said screw it.

CHP motorcycle officer stopped traffic to block everything except the far right lane and the shoulder, forcing the guy into a narrow space, that he could block himself.

He had nowhere left to go.

I think he was just caught off guard and didn't expect the Chippy to jump off his bike so fast. Hence, one reason why there is crash bars on the bike. Nice take down!
