does the K&N filter make a difference that you can feel? i put one on my car and fourwheeler and felt it so i imagine it would on a bike as well

IMHO You probably won't get what you are looking for unless...

you are going to change out the exhaust also. You are trying to get more air flow through the system and the stock exhaust is a bit restrictive. If you do these 2 mods you will need a PC to offset the "lean" condition produced now. They are already very lean with stock setup. Any mod that increases airflow, even slightly, will make it run even leaner. The bike will need a proper dyno tune with a custom map for YOUR bike as all bikes in reality are slightly different....even if they are set up the same. Generic maps (or somebody else's custom map) will probably work...but the TRUE way to tune YOUR bike for peak performance/correct A/F is getting it on a dyno with a tuner who knows what he's doing. Of course by this point $$$ have been spent. With my bikes I do it all at once or leave it stock.
