Important for anybody with a pre-2012 FZ6R

I recently went to take a look around the local Yamaha showroom, and noticed a new update that has been added to the UK XJ6N/XJ6 Diversion (US FZ6R).

Basically, the rear sets of our bikes are badly protected, and can wear down easily. The 2012 onward bikes have new protectors which can be fitted.

I ordered a set from the dealer for £20 GBP.

Part numbers:
20S-27487-00
20S-27486-00

This stuff peels off easily:

Same on the other side:

Pretty clear where my boots have worn through the finish. Cleaned up any glue residue or dirt with brake cleaner before applying the new parts

The new parts:

Self adhesive - you don't need to ride around for an hour to buy superglue like I did:

So yeah, I think they're worth ordering to get rid of the nasty look if you are in the same position as me.

EDIT:

Thanks to Dart1963 for finding the parts for the US:

you order that carbon fiber look in particular. I have a 2012 but don't believe I have noticed that dotted looking piece. will have to check when I get home. Nice info !

Strange...
I have a 2011. I started scuffing up early on thanks to my A-stars. Pointed it out to the dealer, and he said "those are just scuff plates, and they're replaceable..."

So, apparently, they rolled these things out on the 2011..

A pic:
