HAHAHA.....Transformers!

sorry but I had to comment on this one as I see it here as well.

I hate it when an officer comes in and gets something illegal done to their vehicle(tint, lighting, etc.) and says "it's ok, I'm a cop, I won't get a ticket. "

being an officer shouldn't exclude you from the laws you are enforcing.

no offense is meant to you personally by this. I just hate the double standard.

No offense taken. I can't speak for all Officers but the most of the ones I know will not write a biker for colored lights. Now if they are flashing, thats another story, becomes a misdemeanor here in Illinois. As far as the double standard I understand that as well and I won't write someone a ticket for something I do myself. We all speed at some time or another so unless someone is really flying I won't stop them. Normally 15 mph over the limit, unless its a school zone or like Halloween this year I got someone speeding through the neighborhood while the kids were still out trick or treating. There are people in every profession who make their peers look bad. Another biker one is loud exhaust. I have a louder exhaust on my bikes and won't write that either. I actually walked up to a guy who had just pulled in to a gas station to check out his bike because it sounded good and we got to talking. He later invited me to join his group when they go on rides and told me that at first he thought he was going to get a ticket from me. Remember I said in the first post it's all about attitude. I have walked up to vehicles with the intention of writing the driver and their attitude changed the outcome and vice versa. Please stay safe and keep the shiny side up.
