Going the extra mile (no pun intended)

I decided to lower the bike so I bought the parts from a local place and made an appointment to have them do the work. Problem was, they couldn't do it until the 29th of this month...and I got the parts at the end of April. Patience has never been a virtue of mine. Asked a friend if he knew anyone who could do the work and he gave me the number of a friend of his who used to be a bike mechanic at a Honda/Yamaha place that went out of business.

Long story short, I picked up the bike today and not only did he install the parts (lowering link, kickstand, and frame sliders), but he also adjusted the clutch, took the slack out of the throttle, put air in the tires, and went over the bike as if it were his own. The guy knew I was brand new to riding and the extra effort he put into this is something I truly appreciate. It's nice to know some people still take a lot of pride in what they do.
