he was approaching, didn't speed up or anything... she just wasn't paying attention.. and yes, that crap happens way too often...Seems like you were in the blind spot, she should have looked better or known her surroundings, but you also have to ensure they are always seeing you.+
Yup, I get annoyed whether in the Ram or on the bike when people change lanes or make turns without signalling. It happens every single day especially at on/off ramp commuting to work. I expect it and it's not a danger, but I wish a cop would see it even once. Finally had someone nailed a few weeks ago. They flew by me and I knew there was a cop in traffic and bam! I sit in my truck or on my bike gesturing and talking to myself when some dbag goes from far left lane (6 lane divided highway) to far right just at the off ramp just so they can get past the one extra car almost causing me to highside in the meantime. I use my limited sign language for cases like that.he was approaching, didn't speed up or anything... she just wasn't paying attention.. and yes, that crap happens way too often...
also noticed her right blinker worked just fine, but not her left one.... one thing that really annoys me.... there are way to many cars out there that didn't pay for the optional turn signals... (oh wait, they're mandatory), LEO should enforce the law more often when drivers change lanes without signalling, that and driving without headlights on (during rain, dusk/dawn)... those people are more dangerous than speeders all day long
I gotta disagree with you here. Let's say for the sake of argument Cerberus was riding to the right third of his lane and was next to that SUV. She STILL wouldn't have seen him except he would have had no time to react. Cerberus would be a stain on the highway right now. When I ride in the fast lane (street or highway) I usually ride center or left. What happened to him has happened to me more times than I can count, but without a buffer I might not be here either. If they don't see/hear me where I am, two feet to my right won't make a difference. If you ride in the right third of your lane when on the leftmost lane, cars will see you better. You'll have to be aggressive about moving, though, don't stay in anybody's blind spot for long. Not saying go fast, but vary where you are in relation to the cars next to you.
And one thing I have found to help against people turning in front of me: headlight modulator. Plus cover your front brake AT ALL TIMES...
I ride to the right until I get up to the car I am passing and then I move to the far left of the lane (just before passing) . Most car mirrors won't see a bike in far left of the lane, but I'd never stay right to pass. Just want to get noticed on approach. I want a little space cushion just in case.I gotta disagree with you here. Let's say for the sake of argument Cerberus was riding to the right third of his lane and was next to that SUV.
