Getting lost is the best thing

So I'm still a new rider and I've been a little iffy about going on some of the higher traffic roads around here. Decided to go on a short ride to work it out. So I got lost (I'm directionally challenged) which was the best thing that could happen. Ended up on all the different roads, high traffic, high speed, windy, twisty, etc. Was a blast and totally ended any stress factor. If it wasn't for stalling while starting on a hill at a stoplight (I did say I was new) it would've been perfect.

Thinking about where to get lost tomorrow

I drive my wife nuts because she always asks where I'm headed on a ride and I always say "I don't know." I love just following the roads wherever they go.

Random Ride FTW! Several days ago I went out for a couple hour's ride. Turned out be about six hours. Got totally lost, ended up in another state, seriously stressed running out of gas, and had a total blast. Found some amazing roads, too. :thumbup:

My only problem is tha i know everyroad around here I cant get lost even if I wanted to.

I've been out in Phoenix for a year and there are still *tons* of new roads to explore!

And lots of twisties! Gonna head up to Flagstaff next week, me thinks...

There's so many roads around here, there's no way I know them all. I always know where I'm at in relation to the roads I do know, though. Pretty much makes it impossible to get truly lost.

My Random Rides generally begin well away from home. I'll pick some spot on the map I haven't been to, or that looks interesting, ride out there and start choosing roads to try. I've usually pre-picked a likely road to start from.

This region is festooned with back-country roads. I grab a road, run down it, grab another, and repeat. After a little while - lost as I wanna be.

It also doesn't hurt that I've got absolutely no sense of direction, whatsoever...

Well i have spent all my life here. I would have to drive atleast 2 to 3 hours away to be in unfarmiliar teritory

Used to live near Mesa, AZ at Williams AFB when it existed. 145 degrees on the flightline. Good times
