Gauges - MPH <-> KM/h

I came across this video on youtube...

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLE_UaBcWoo]YouTube - 2009 Yamaha FZ6R[/ame]

Shows how to convert gauges from MPH to KM/h. Now, I have a Canadian FZ6R and this doesn't seem to work... they appear to be KM/h only. The owners manual says nothing on how to do it. I'd like to have MPH since I live 45 mins from the border and love riding in NY state.

Any ideas on how to make it work on the Canadian models?

If not, this should work on the US models at least :)

Yeah, on the U.S. bikes, you just hold the select button until it changes. So that doesn't work for the Canadian FZ6R? :confused:

I know the service manual talks about it, but I thought the owers manual did as well..

It's pretty simple to do it in your head, really.... Conversion factor of 1 mph:1.6 kmh.
Really only have 3 numbers you have to remember - 35 mph, 55 mph and 65 mph. Anything over that, just go with the traffic.

mph = kmh
1.00 =1.61
10.00 16.09
20.00 = 32.19
30.00 = 48.28
35.00 = 56
40.00 = 64.37
50.00 = 80.47
55.00 = 88
60.00 = 96.56
65.00 = 104
70.00 = 112.65
80.00 = 128.75
90.00 = 144.84
100.00 = 160.93

Hope this helps.

I'm very used to going between the two at this point. It would just be nice because I'm looking at an 'exact' number, and then there's speedo error to consider.... would be so much simpler if it just switched. :(
