Love the books and the show. They could do a better job staying true to the books though.

The books are a bloated mess once you really look into them. The worst is the 4th book. It is 1,000 pages of basically nothing that moves the plot forward at all.

I'm not going to go into detail because I know most haven't read the books.

Blasphemy. Have you ever read the LOTR books? I lost count of how many pages were spent on Sam & Frodo in the swamp. Compared to that ASOIAF is a breeze.

I havent read ASOIAF but agree The Hobbit & LOTR were a struggle. I made myself read them about 15years ago, I enjoyed them more once finished but when in the midst, I felt some-what tortured!

Either way I enjoyed the movies & now the GOT tv series

im on book 6 right now. I feel like its getting a little slow.... does it have the legs to take me all the way to 14!?
I finished the series on Audible so I could listen while driving. Gets really bogged down but the ending is enough payoff to make it worth it.
