i have not checked craigslist or for local forums, a good bud die of mine owns a honda dealer near bye , he may be able to help me, like i said i get 20% off there but that still isn't the $50 gift card i have for bike bandit, i have to give him a call and ask him some questions still. he may mount them for me any way, despite being against store policy....im like his nephew... kinda sorta but not lol

How much do you think the tires will cost you - the metzlers are probably just over $200 (using bikebandit prices). 20% of $200 is $40 - that's pretty close to $50, no? Saves you some headaches (ordering online, shipping, etc), and gives a local dealer some business.

has anyone used the metzeler sportec m3's? i have read nothing but good reviews on them and could get them for a ok price.



I'm leaning towards ordering my tires off bike bandit because i do have a $50 gift card, but ill have to call around and see if anyone will mount them. i can get 20% off at my buddies shop... but thats no $50... and they gave me hell last time i brought in tires ( for my friend) that we didn't purchase from them. granted they may still install them they will just give me a hard time about it.

I run those on my bike. I love them. They feel great, stick to the road, and seem to have a half decent lifespan. My only beef with them is they can be a bit nervous in tar snakes. Overall, though, great performance and longevity for the money. There are nicer tires out there and there are cheaper tires out there but I think the Metzlers are the best value going.

awesome! thanks for the input, from what i have read they have like 35 reviews and not a negative word said about them, others compared them to the michellin pilots and dunlop or perrelli, i want a versatile tire i dont always carve up corners but i want a tire that will do that when i demand carving to be done but be able to handle normal wear and tear like commuting or a jog through town...or back road.

I just purchased a pilot power 2ct for 140.... When I got home and saw it I liked how sticky it felt just sitting their. The price isn't much more than the cheap raven 009. Although amazon says it won't fit your bike...it will not sure why it says that.

Just my recommendation

the only thing stopping me is that every shop within 50 miles of me wants $40 a tire to mount and balance.

if i buy my tires from my friends shop i can get them mounted and balanced for free.... and i get 20% plus the $40 rebate... so I'm going to take my wheels off on sunday when I'm off of work and take them up to my friends shop and see what he can work out for me before i make a solid choice. but i am def aiming for the Q3's

*** update** I ended up getting a set of Michellin Pilot Power's from my friends shop for $292 installed. I probably could have saved more money by ordering the Q3's from Bike Bandit but then my buddy's shop wouldn't have gained any support from me and thats just crapy. on top of that i didn't need to wait for the tires to arrive, and i found a 2002 kawasaki KX125 for $700 at the shop,my friend said he will put in a good word for me.

my buddy didn't have the Q3's in stock, only Q2's, he said once he sells them out he will order the Q3's but highly recommended the michellin pilot powers. he had pilot road 4's but i dont think i could afford them, they look bad ***!...
