Took my first ride for the year (about 5 months). About the best thing I could have done today. There was snow everywhere and the roads were a bit wet, but the bike and I didn't lay down and it felt great to be out. Suppose to be freezing rain and rain all day tomorrow sooo guess this was just a treat until spring.

We just had almost 2 feet of snow last week, it's been freezing or below all week, and today is supposed to be 50 degrees before it goes back to the teens. I got my bike out yesterday, let it run a bit, took it to the corner of my street and back, left my boots and pants out....
Today should have been my first ride of the season, but my wife called before I left and said black ice is EVERYWHERE, so I took the cage. Only 30 degrees right now. Maybe I can ride when I get home from work.

Watch for potholes! They're horrible here in PA this year due to all the snow storms.
I've been noting where all the potholes are on my most driven roads and roads that I will probably ride on and have picked out the potholes. There are some BAD ones out there!!
Daughter's boyfriend has hit 2 bad potholes losing a total of 3 tires on his GTI. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram with 33" tires so potholes aren't quite so bad for me.I've been noting where all the potholes are on my most driven roads and roads that I will probably ride on and have picked out the potholes. I have had a tire come off the rim on me this year, but I don't think it was the cause of a pothole. Thank god for low profile tires, the tire was still fine. Bet that Dodge gets all the ladies
Love my Dodge, gonna get another when the time comes. Bike's gonna be my primary during this riding season hopefully.Ouch.

We went for a ride last weekend and the weekend before that, first rip was just a 150 or so miles, the one last weekend was 350 miles.
Almost got hit by a guy evading Police.
Scary seeing a car headed right for you on the wrong side of the road just feet away, I could see the guys face as I watched the front and rear tires start smoking from being locked up during breaking, happened so quick it was like a movie. Wife had passed already, a guy stopped beside me at the next light and was going "Dang man that guy almost got you".
Stopped at a rest stop for a bite and looked at the sign -- Area 51
Weird ride for sure, fun and eventful.

I wanted to go out today but the 200 yards of ice before I'd get to paved road would be a problem I feel like... Also I haven't changed out the storage oil or storage fuel or readied everything else on it for summer. It was 44 degrees here today, warmest it's been since last fall... back into the low 20's and teens for the next week.
