False neutral

I've only read about it, but today I experienced it and it caught me off guard! I was trying to perfect my technique of clutchless shifting(which I don't think I'll be doing anymore) and I shifted up. It went normal, but a split-second later it revved up really high like in neutral. Thank God I let off the throttle because it then immediately went in gear and pulled. I'm guessing I didn't shift hard enough.

I think everyone's done it at some point. My last bike I had 4 years and once in awhile I'd still hit one (the shift wasn't as smooth as this bike's).

Clutchless or not, it's bound to happen. I've experienced it a few times now. It seems to happen when I don't get enough of my toe under the shifter and get only a "half" shift. It's really annoying between 5th & 6th since that's at the higher speeds.

it happens on the FZ6 too...you gotta make sure you stuff it in gear when clutchless upshifting...I had a few false neutrals between 4th and 5th at redline on the track...durn...
