I was wondering, has anyone modded their exhaust without fully removing the headers, to make the bike louder or mot shelled out for a new FZ6r exhaust system? I heard someone mention using R6 headers, with fitting. Also, does anyone know how to lower the handlebars to accommodate a more supersport ride and look on their FZ6R? Take it easy on me, I'm a newb.

The easiest and cheapest way to lower your bars as far as they will go without cutting into your fairing is to put on FZ1 bars and rotate your bar risers to the forward position.

Stock Yamaha FZ1 bars are closer to about $40.

to use an R6 header, you will have to fully remove the headers... and have a bit of heat/bend experience... you're best bet is a Marthy mod, he uses the stock exhaust, cut right where the pipes come together, a short adapter, then a slip-on of your choice, or you can extend it out and have a full side pipe... best bang for the buck! see my sig pic for the viper slip-on, modded to allow a center-stand to still be added

any 7/8" bar will do for getting it a bit lower, or you can remove the bar and go with clip-ons, a few members here have done that.
