8 year old daughter said my bike (totally stock) looks kinda ok, but it needs more stickers. maybe streamers?
not sure i agree.

but then she said the back seat looks like it is smelling the front seat.
...and now i can't unsee it.

time to change out the pillion / fz6 seat swap / give it a nose job? now i'm actually thinking about a sleeker, simpler line from tank to tail, somehow...

Great, now I can't unsee it either lmao

I have never liked the rear seat. I bought a used one for the very few times my girlfriend wants to go for a ride. 99% of the time, I've got my cowl on. They're discontinued but you could try ebay. Might be able to find one for sale used. A member here is also working on possibly remaking them.

Other than that, I'd like to see an r6 tail swap lol. A thread here shows one started but the guy never got around to getting back to tell everyone how it went. There are pictures with and fz6r and an r6 tail in that thread though so I'm sure it's possible. How much time and money was invested, I'm unsure of.

thank you texanfz6r, that cowl looks much sharper / way less seat-sniffy than the stock seat...wish they weren't discontinued / rare these days. hadn't considered options from other bikes, that f6 tail was pretty sweet!

hunting a bit more, found a corbin custom seat with simple lines, but way WAY way more than i'm willing to spend at $500. also came across a rear seat cover that changes the "nosey" profile a little bit for around $40 https://www.sixty61.com/Yamaha-FZ6R-Seat-Covers-Rear-Baseline-Sixty61-p/fz6r-09-r.htm but not a huge difference & looks like installation requires purchasing some extras like a pneumatic or electric staple gun.

i enjoy futzing with motorcycle stuff, so maybe there's an even more diy approach?

maybe shaving down the padding and re-upholstering?

or building some kind of diy cowl by combining pillion with fiberglass, epoxy / resin?...

All of that sounds great. I'm interested to see what it would look like shaved down.

might try a diy fiberglass cowl / seat cover (around project #36 on the priority list, honestly), but wife just casually threw out that she, er, didn't mind riding on the seat as is
