Derestricting Problem!

Hi Members,

Over the weekend i tried to de-restrict my bike and ran into a little problem with the 2 gold screws...

The 1st one that i tried must have been an "immoveable object" as when i tried to unscrew it the screw head completely snapped off...

The rest of the screw is still left in the bike joining the two parts but now i have nothing to take it out with.

I see this as a big problem to tackling my derestriction now.

I don't really have any mechanical skills but was fine with doing this procedure following the how-to post in the other forum section.

Any advice on what i should do would be much appreciated.

Drill it out. Use an easy out.

Any idea what type of screw it would be? It is the 2 side by side.

They are torx screws, t25 if yours is the same it has a pin in the middle of the screw

Would you happen to know where i can pick 2 of these up?

the right one is broken and the left one was skinned when i tried to unscrew it.

Sorry man no idea where you can get them maybe yamaha dealership my screws were in real tight too, where abouts in australia are you?

You dont have to replace them with Torx heads... just get another screw the same thread/pitch etc and get whatever head ya want. Take the good screw and go to a hardware store and use a thread checker to find out exactly what it is and go on your merry way. :thumbup:
