Chain tool?

Hey I posted a few days ago about my chain coming off. Well I ordered a new one and it came with the chain and sprockets but said I would need a chain tool. I'm not sure what that is or does but looking on the internet I've seen a lot of different looking tools with greatly varying prices. I ordered a 520 x-ring chain and want to make sure I get the right thing. If anybody knows what I should buy I would appreciate it.

You will want something like this: Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool | Motion Pro

but beware, if you are not familiar with "pressing" on the master link and riveting the pins, please have a professional do it, or train you to do it... too easy to over press the pins if you don't do it right... if you are adventurous (and there are good videos on the subject), I recommend getting extra master links/pins just in case you bust one.
What do you do to keep from over tightening? I saw one guy use a micrometer to measure the regular link and pressed his until it was almost the same width. Is that the proper way?
