California: PCV vs PCV EX?

Hi guys,

So apparently the "PCV" is not legal in California (boo), and is why the "PCV EX" exists. Darn tree huggers. My questions is - how is this even enforced? In CA there are no Motorcycle smog/exhaust inspections. How would anyone ever know you have a standard PCV installed? Or is this one of those unenforceable laws? Purely hypothetical of course. :thumbup:

There aren't currently smog checks, but there was talk of them a year or two back. We also have a new law requiring bikes (after 2013, I think) to have OEM exhaust.

And, I'm pretty sure when you register a used bike, it needs to get inspected.
 
Thanks. If CA were to enact a smog check law, I guess if :confused:someone:confused: were to keep their original exhaust it would not be TOO hard to swap the exhaust back to OEM, and have the PCV act as a normal fuel controller.
 
By the book PCV is for racing purpose only... WHOOOOSSSSGIIIVEEEESAAAASHIIIIIITT! :D:D:D

It is technically illegal about everywhere... But you can always change the map if you need to get it smog in the future.
 
They don't enforce it trust me. I have one on my bike :D
California tried to pass a law requiring motorcycles to be smoged, but it was shot down. Thanks to the help of the AMA.
