so, I just replaced my passenger side mirror on my Aztek, stupid birds....


then, beautiful day, got to ride the bike into work. Wife calls, says both mirrors now broke... and, car is due for inspection (hence why I replaced the one)....

apparently, mating season, birds are territorial and will attack other birds in their area... including their own reflection :mad:

if you park your bike, or car outside... cover them mirrors...

of course, where I'm at, everything is bigger... this is a "baby" woodpecker that we get, some are three times this size :eek:

Noticed a couple of male Redheaded Woodpeckers doing a standoff yesterday in the yard (5 1/2 acres), took a couple of pictures of one. Never had one attack a mirror yet, but there is always a first time.
Raccoons have climbed on my bike before, lets just say they got lead poisoning. :eek:
Had a rat or mouse chew through wiring on both my wife's ride and mine.
The perils of country living.

This is so funny. My wife and I have noticed a house in our neighborhood with two cars parked outside with towels/rags wrapped around the side view mirrors. We've been scratching our heads trying to figure out why. Now we know. Answers sometimes come from unexpected sources :)
