Best way to jack up the fz6r?

need to replace the top triple tree, and i would prefer to jack it up somehow. Can i do this without jacking it up? would the lower triple be enough to hold it while i replace the upper?

am i going to have to take the fairings off to jack it up?>

Just push it over. That will take the weight off the triple. The lower triple should hold but get confirmation from other members

To use a motorcycle/ATV lift, you need to remove the fairings as they won't bear the bike's weight and it's the first thing the jack will touch before reaching something sturdier.

Are you only replacing the top clamp? If so you don't need to jack the bike up, just remove it. Lower part of the triple clamp will hold it fine.

Otherwise the "best" way to jack up a bike is a pair of stands. I like Pit Bulls; rock solid, don't flex, last forever.

The Harbor Fright motorcycle/atv stand works perfectly for me. It never touches the fairing. I jack it up under the exhaust pipes. They told me it was fine in the service dept. at the dealer and I've used that method many times without any problems.
