Attn. California Riders

We are tentatively planning to meet up at Shaver lake NE of Fresno CA this Sunday June 10th at 9:00AM. Once there we will hang out take, a break, eat, meet other 6R riders and check out each other’s bikes. Once we have meet each other we can head out and ride some twisties for some time. Thereafter we can all hang out for a while before heading back out.

Sounds like a great time. Too bad shaver lake is 320 miles from me... Need a SoCal / NorCal meetup :D

I think the main thing was getting people from socal and norcal to all be able to meet up so centrol cali made more sense. Maybe this one first then north or socal next.

Yeah, way too far for me to be able to be there by 9am unless I left the night before and stayed over. And frankly, too many miles all in one day for what I'm riding right now.

hotel stay

Would some of u consider a motel 6 to save some cash and stay there I have some people out there and can make a few calls for hotel to find some good rates.

Makes sense. With a bit more planning, might even work. But for most of us this one would demand at least one overnight, which makes it a weekend event, which means a bit more than two days notice is really needed, at least in my life.

Also, for those of us coming from out of the area, this location means almost 100% fairly hellish freeway riding the whole way. Someplace along the coast, or at least along 101, would make for a much more interesting ride there. Speaking for myself, I'd really rather do just about anything than spend 4-5 hours each direction, most of it on 405-5-99, playing with big rigs the whole way.

It's still something that's just up in the air but by the looks of it not many responding back. Would it help if the time was changed. I understand driving is alot and well mostly straight highwayS till we got into fresno. We really just want to set something up that will work for all of us.

Yea it's a little late notice for me, but I would love to meetup with other cali riders at some point. I do plan on going out for a few rides this weekend and I work on breaking in the bike, but I won't be able to make this meetup unfortunately.

Im from Santa Cruz, That ride is a little too far for me specially when i only have my permit haha, but if there is ever a meetup closer to me let me know! we should do a ride thru highway 9/skyline/4 corners/ coast rd is like bikers heaven there! youtube it!

For something mid-state, I really like the San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles area. It's about halfway for both Bay Area and LA people. A bit further for Sacramento/San Diego, but still about halfway. There are some nice roads between 101 and the coast to ride. It's a bit of a highway trek for most of us, but at least the highway is 101 (with a coast route option for those with more time) rather than 5 or 99. And if we're looking at sometime after the 4th of July, riding through the central valley can get truly miserable. Don't have any specific recommendations because I've never done it on a bike, but know the area pretty well and could do a bit more research.

If we do it sometime in July, I might just have my FZ6R by then. Until that happens I'm on a 250 supermoto. Fun, but not really fun for long rides.

Yea I agree. We should try for regular meet ups for the NorCal and SoCal folks. At some point I think we should both meet half way because I'd like to meet you folks someday.
