I can't say too much from a rider perspective, as i just started riding about a month ago. And I'm a Houston Cougar Alumni, so no comment on the Aggies...although I DO know they had to turn their football program around by hiring OUR head coach.

Anyways...I've seen an increase in bikes in the past few years since gas prices have gone up. With that; the awareness is increasing to cagers, but i would still say below par to other places with more bikes. Although there seems to be more of a motorcycle presense and awareness in the college towns, as a lot of kids ride them for the close parking spots. Most University parking around the state is nothing shy of terrible. So I def recommend it for school purposes. A co-worker of mine commuted to class at aTm on a ninja 250 for this reason. He said 1 out of 3 vehicles is a bike. My brother bought an '09 FZ6R to commute to Texas State in San Marcos for this reason. His friends spend 45mins to find parking. He said there is designated motorcycle parking all over campus. But I refuse to ride mine to work in Houston during rush-hour. Literally a death wish, as Houston is known for it's traffic...Lot of big trucks, SUV's and 18wheelers to contend with in Texas.

Long story short- bring it to get to class on time.

Lol no worries...I'm actually doing the firefighter training program. Will only be there 3 months so I dont really care about varsity teams...although I did want to see at least ONE good game. But now that you've said that I'm disappointed haha. Besides, I'll always be a warrior, did my undergrad in Ontario;)

That's good advice, thanks for that! By the sounds of it I might be safer bringing my bicycle...I'm going to be VERY close to base camp, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. And I was wondering about the big trucks and such...so again, thank you!

Anyone else have an opinion/words of wisdom? :)

I would bring it . I live in the Bryan/College Station area and ride almost everyday and I haven't really any close calls just a few but idiots are everywhere but overall I'd say its not to bad around here because of all the students that ride and just riders in general i think most people are pretty aware of bikes on the road. So I'd say bring it and enjoy the warm weather.

How is that club txjames? Looking for mellow riders. Under triple digits please. I'm too old to pull my buddies out of ditches all weekend. =)
