Another thread about clipons...

Hey Guys, I have searched and searched and found plenty on installing the 1.5" woodcraft clip ons above the triples, but has anyone tried installing the 3" version below?

I saw the thread about cutting the plastic to install the Apex bars below, but looking at the design + a few measurements it looks like the 3" woodcrafts might fit without any modification.

Anyone tried it?

(sorry in advance if this has been answered. I could not find it anywhere.)

Sorry bro I haven't heard anyone try that yet.... I installed clip ons with no rise and cut into the Faraings.... Trial and error....

I have 1.5" Woodcraft clip-ons. I don't think 3" woodcrafts are possible under the triple, because of the angle of the bars. They'd be laying on the body of the bike. I thought the same thing as you before I got mine and had someone measure and it just won't work. You can do it with Apex clip-ons, but you'll have to cut the fairings a little even with the adjustment on Apex bars. I thought about them as an option, but didn't have the money for them when I got around to doing the bars.

My thoughts were that since the 1.5's clear above, the 3" should put the bars in the same place with the clamp being 1.5" lower (below), unless I'm missing something and the clamp would be even lower than that...

I'm just worried about lowering the front that much to mount them above the triples (even though everyone says its fine, I know, I know...lol)

Apex bars are slightly adjustable and 3" risers under the triple still required body cutting. The Woodcrafts aren't angle adjustable.
