If i didn't already have my reflective wheel stripes I'd probably go with this mod, pretty sick. I believe it's legal because it's not shining down on the road during movement right? Hence why led kits can only be used legally when the bike is parked. Either way i think it's pretty cool.

That is pretty cool. I had reflective wheel tape on my FZ6R. Wonder if just putting LED's pointed at it would recreate the same effect....

I think it is kinda pricey at $200 for a 2 wheel kit. Hopefully over time that will become cheaper.

Nah, you would need a light absorbent material to get the glow.
Reflective, bounces the light off and no way to absorb it.

You could probably create the same effect by painting wheel stripes with glow in the dark paint and putting them on. Leave your bike out in the sun while it's parked and you are good to go at night. Ghetto but in theory would work...the only downside would be if you park your bike on it's kickstand depending on which direction you park it, it may not charge the shaded side. Worth a shot

You could do the above and just add the POD LED lights and get same results as the paid for kit.

Personally, I think reflective tape is enough. I don't want to look a Tron nerd everywhere I go.

Go to a local hobby store Hobby Lobby ie..., and you can find a glow in the dark tape there, I saw it for like $4 bucks and it was wide enough to get at least 4 out of wide and 15 ft long, cut into strips and apply, use a LED to charge the strips.
