Damn, but I love this bike. I've owned a few bikes over the years, and ridden many that I don't own, thanks to family and friends. None can do everything I want to do as well as my FZ6R. It's got enough torque to have fun in near any situation. I can lay it down in the corners and it's still got more to give. I can roll the throttle nice and easy, when my son is on the back, or I can jack it to the rear and rocket through the gears when I'm playing. All the while it's comfortable enough to do long hours in the saddle.
It's got a near perfectly compromised riding position between leaning forward and sitting upright. There's just enough seat to shift my backside when my back gets tired. The suspension just eats the rolls of the road like the tires are glued, but it's not too shocking on the hard bumps. At the same time I can do a high speed, decreasing radious sweeper and feel every pebble as I search for the quickest line.
To those of you who are new riders, and chose the FZ6R: You might feel a want to graduate to a "true" sport bike or heavy weight cruiser, depending upon your inclination. But I think you will be hard pressed to find a better bike than the one you currently own. You're going to make the switch, just as I would have. I'm always grabbing for another gear. I'm always wishing it were just a little faster, or geared a little higher, or I wish it were a little bit lighter. I'm always wishing for just al ittle bit more.
After you buy that next bike, you're gonna love it. But you'll always compare it to the FZ6R. You're new bike may do some things better, but it will fall short on everything else. The FZ6R is the Jack of All Trades. It's a beautiful thing to experience.
Now if only I could find a woman as good as my bike...
