So, yesterday, this vendor who I've repeatedly told "go away", after asking me last week if I was available and I said no... decided to "drop by the office" anyway...

Our receptionist is great, she brought me back his business card and asked if I wanted to see him... said, nope, and I told him that last week...

She then went on to mention some of thier conversation, basically it went like this:

rec: He doesn't do IT full time, it's not his primary job
ven: So what do you do when you need help
rec: he does it all
ven: What if he can't fix it
REC: We've never had that happen!


that last line made my day....

I hope your pay reflects what you do for the company? Most times, companies don't have an idea what a resource they have in some people. It's always nice to hear you are valuable.

I work in a slighly dif. field / atmoshpere doing the work for a consulting firm and it is the best feeling ever to have the clients be so happy with your work they tell your boss "you need to give this guy more money $_$" have that happen a few times love it
