2010 Meetup, rides, etc.

It's getting time again for some big rides, short rides and just some nice short meet-ups.

I work right up the road from Dulles Airport, and commute to/from Bluemont. So if anyone wants to start a weekly/monthly short get together during the week after work, I'm game. I joined a "meetup" club, but they are in Alexandria which is a bit out of my way, they meetup every Wed at a Starbucks.

I'm thinking Leesburg is a central point, or, we could meetup at the Dulles town center, or anywhere else that might be near you all. Keeping in mind we all ride an hour or less out of our way after work and we keep our get-together short, just to say hey, check out each others mods, work out weekend rides, etc.

Any interest?

Also, I'm game for a 1 or 2 day Skyline trip again. It's a great ride and we can work out details during a meetup, or if there's not much interest, we can pick a date online and do it. Maybe a spring and fall ride?

Wouldn't mind a get together at some point. Would have to be on a weekend though, I keep my bike in Centreville, MD so it's a little far, but not a problem. Actually taking a trip this Sunday up to Bear, DE.

Weekends are fine as well...
just waiting for some more ppl to chime in. At some point in the next week or two, we'll just pick a schedule and whoever can make it will, whether it's a weeknight or weekend, I'm just ready to meetup and schedule some rides. Saturday mornings worked out well last year, not too late so if we have other commitments we can.

I do have to warn you, I'm still a newb at riding, only have a little over 200mi on my bike. Probably easily be over 300 by the end of Sunday. The crash and winter really set me back. It's hard putting miles on it when I can really only ride it on the weekend.

NP Diluted... I'm a nube too, 37, first bike, bought it in Aug, but I've been riding it like crazy (dropped a time or two...).

Mchury, there is a time in the next month or two a buddy of mine and I are looking forward too (if his foot heals up from a nasty cage crash), one of the KTM dealers up there is hosting a test ride weekend.
While it'd be cool to get on the RC8R (Picture: Ktm - 2010_ktm_rc8r_fonz01.jpg), they will be demoing a lot of their other rides as well.

If I find out some more info, or if you have some, it'd be great to get a few Yami FZ6R's up there..

Skyline trip sounds great, lets do it ASAP...! i am in.. looking fwd to it.. also i am game for a short/big weekly ride.. apparently due to my work i think a weekend ride is probably more suitable for me, the ride we did last time was fun.. i take the dulles toll road to my work (exit 13-reston) and Dulles town center sounds like a good meetup point if it suits other ppl too..the more the merrier

Yea i would deff like to go take a look at that thing and represent the sixxers while we are there. Let me know exactly whats going on and i will be happy to attend.

Just a reminder for anyone interested, this is tomorrow... I'll be there at 11, parked near cheesecake factory, if you don't see me outside come up to the food court, I'll stand out like a sore thumb with my gear, and some coffee in hand. If you get there before 11, do the same.

Jay and I were the only ones there. I figured 11 was late enough, but yeah, if you had to work late it's "early".

Just got back, we did a short 70mile ride, some good old VA backroads.

I think, next time we should meet up somewhere in MD, seems there's a few more of you up there. I don't mind riding an hour or so out of my way. We'll just have to pick a place.

As to the second part of my post, the Skyline trip. Thinking May 8th for a date, no other details yet... maybe meet at the bottom and work our way up (get the long boring ride done early, then enjoy the ride)....

Saturday NVSA Meetup & Ride - NoVA Sportbike Association (NVSA) (Alexandria, VA) - Meetup.com

I'm going to try and go to this on Saturday, it's an Alexandria, VA meetup group, they used to only have Wed. night meetings, now they are trying Saturdays. Maybe we can do a MD get together next weekend, just need to pick a place that's central to where everyone's at.

Anyone up for the Skyline drive trip on the 8th, or is that too soon?

May 8th for the skyline trip.. i am ready.. it's not too soon for me..i belive we can do it a couple of times this year.. before the weather turns unfavouarble again meetup in MD or VA , i am ok with both.. does anyone else in the region think it's a good start for the season or want to suggest another date..
