yea i am about the same height as you - so I can barely flatfoot it. The super slow ride down with spotters i think is the way to go but again - I am dreading it which is not going to help.
Still open to other suggestions....
That was good thanks for the reply. The only difference (and where i'm getting the fear factor actually) is that the ramp seems to be alot higher up than on that vid. I will have a couple hired helpers so I am sure we can figure it out. It def freaked me out though
So I am about to embark on a move to San Diego and I thought it wouldn't be a problem to put the bike in the back of my truck. Well it's in there but I was really intimidated by the ramp for some reason.
Long story short, I laid it down - not badly but it still sucks. I am already...
Not sure what the issue is with cruising at 6-7K RPM on an engine that redlines at 12ish. It's not a car - that's how these bikes are designed to run. Above 7k RPM is where the 6R starts to get fun.
Dude a ride to the shore would be money. I grew up going to Sea Isle. I was just home last week too bad the 6R cant fit in overhead baggage.
Go FLYERS!!!!!
I have the stinger and i am happy with it. It is heavy leather and the armor stay in the right places as I move. (I am 5'9" ~155 avg build got size M) It is especially comfortable now that it is broken in. There are two extra pockets that a lot of the descriptions dont mention on the...
I took the ABATE class here in Denver. I think it was $50 cheaper than some of the other classes. It was a long two days but if you want to get more comfortable. Plus its probably is worth it for the insurance savings alone
Yes it is true. There were a bunch of interesting articles about the end of Buell in various magazines a month or two ago. If I remember it correctly, they were forced to outsource the engine due to a shoestring budget from HD for their sportbike endeavors.
They also had a pretty badass...
Totally agree on the whole entertainment value thing. There is this epic thread full of squid pics on this kawi forum I was checking out that was hilarious. It had more of a "we are hear to laugh" tone though. That's what I am hear to do - laugh.
I'll post a link or maybe just steal some...
Agreed. I think a squid is someone on a fast sportbike driving like a dumbass. (usually young, brazen, and lacking common sense. Ah I remember those days!) It amuses me to make fun of of funny pictures but I really don't care what others wear. I have heard all of the arguments about people...
Completed this for the first time too. The oil filter is a PAIN IN THE ASS for sure - it was really torqued in there! I ended up getting a filter wrench that i had to modify with some duct tape to get a better grip but ended up working pretty well.
I fired it back up and there was no oil...
So I saw this bike in person today - it looks even better in person. The paint job is just awesome, esp the graphic on the top of the tank. The guy at Vickery turned on the blue lighting was cool. I am confused because the exhaust looks stock and the guy said it was when I commented but as I...
I wish I could go! It is so awesome I can't imagine seeing it in person..
The site is pretty imformative: Welcome to iomtt.com - The official Isle of Man TT website
TV coverage information, in the US at least, is pretty suspect. I have been looking around for the past few weeks and...
Ghost-riding, frequently used in the context of "ghost-riding the whip" (a "whip" being a vehicle) or simply ghostin', is when a person puts a vehicle's transmission in gear then exits the vehicle while it is still rolling to dance beside it or on the hood or roof.[1]
