its fine to just shut it down,every engine has heat soak that momentarily spikes the engine temp ,thats just the nature of the beast and the coolant soaks that up easily,also why your cooling system pressure will rise slightly after shut down,

Looks good however that extra wieght vibrating in the switch is likely to quickly wear at the tumblers and key so i would keep watch for that

its not a real clear picture however it looks like you may simply have to to pry it out of a grommet after all other bolts are removed

use caution not to intermix glycol with some of the long life stuff and dont just rely on colors ive seen how some of the long life stuff turns to crystals in engines

if you can find an oil pressure port you could always rig a murphy switch

almost 30 years in the work force and i can say for sure that i never left a bad job for a worse one each new one always turned out for the better in the end

try auto tranny fluid but kind of curious if the oil freezes what about the water under it /mabey even vegetable oil or canola oil

as for engine break in dont lug it and dont hold at red line /when i had my v 1100 manual called for 20-40 dealer wanted to sell me 20-50 [cause thats all they had] they said yami changed recomendation lol . they sold suzuki branded oil with api rating S L which was to heavy for that bike...

sold my 07 v 1100 to get this bike and couldn't be happier

dont worry about to much warm up time just dont walk on it till temp gets up to display a temp then your good
