    My Bike Melted!

Here in vegas we are going on 50 days in a row with 100+ temps. It's not often that I have to leave my ride parked in the sun but yesterday I saw a Harley with a partial cover made by cycleshades.com (sorry-I don't know how to provide a easy link) Ordered the generic one last night. Will post a...

Anybody ever go out racing with this bike?

Went head to head with a Harley V-Rod from a red light. Was pretty much even until 85 mph when we had to back off because of a red light up ahead. We probably would have had another go at it but the Las Vegas Metro officer (on duty and on his Harley) put an end to our fun at that red light.

    Free 5 minute exhaust mod

SOUNDS like a couple of drill bits SOUNDS more affordable for more SOUND than an after market set of pipes SOUND. I agree on the safety aspect. Just SOUNDING off.

    Free 5 minute exhaust mod

The way I see it, this mod isn't about performance but just to increase volume somewhat which I believe is a good idea. The stock system is just too quiet. (My dog doesn't even hear me when I pull up to the house) Want to be heard but not annoying. May try this mod but agree that a hammer is way...

    Oil from Vent Tube

Dont think the heat has anything to do with it. Never had any "drippage" here in the desert. (rode 280 hard miles recently with temps about 110)

    Removing rear fender

Move to Las Vegas and you wont have to worry about it. In almost 10k miles I still have never had to ride in the rain.:D:D PS-- Competition Werks f/e is overpriced IMO. Wish I had done more research purchasing that set up.

    Leaning Machine

Suspension is stock-rear preload is on 3 and I weigh 155 without gear. Must admit that it was NOT a smart or safe thing to do.

    Leaning Machine

Would not bother to use sandpaper just for "looks". I'm not trying to impress anyone like that. Went for a ride yesterday that included some 2-lane thru the desert. The lead riders were going into "S" turns that were posted 50 MPH at about 105 MPH and I stayed with them. No change in the width...

Hot Outside but Engine Ran Constant

Did 280 miles yesterday thru Nevada desert with fellow members of Sin City Sportbikes. Temps of about 104. Part of the ride was on the interstate at 6% upgrade for 20+ miles. (there were warning signs for cagers to shut off a/c to prevent overheating) We ran that section at 90+ mph and my engine...

    Leaning Machine

My main concern was that if I pushed it to the point that that I was on my c strip area (about 1/2 inch) that there would be a sudden difference in the amount of traction on that previously unused area of the tire. Will take dart's advice about sandpaper and look into a riding clinic. After...

they are out to get you

Distracted Drivers Was riding on the interstate and came up behind a small hatchback. The license plate was "STOPDUI" and had two MADD bumper stickers. Had to see what the driver looked like. Typical mom type but was reading a magazine that was opened across her steering wheel!! WTF??

    Rear tire lock up

I referred to it as dropping gears-a little more subtle than "banging down thru the gears" Of course it takes practice to do properly but could make that little bit of difference in an emergency. We need as many skills possible to keep our riding safe.

    Few goodies showed up

Low budget solution to handle bar vibration. Get a can of the expanding foam at your hardware that is used to fill cracks, insulate, stop drafts ect. Fill handlebars and allow to expand and dry completely. Think of holding a pipe and hitting it with a hammer. Take same pipe ,fill it with sand and...
