How many miles on your FZ6R?

I had 89,000 on mine when i got rear ended at a stop light. Took advantage of a screaming deal and got a FJR1300 next. Have 37,000 on that at the 2 year mark. Yamaha makes great engines and bikes. I’m commuting just over 100 miles per day. Ergonomics are better on the FJR but the bike is...

    What would you do?

I've enjoyed my 2011 FZ6R for 5 years (bought it used) and 81,000 miles, it's my commuter bike. Picked up a new, 0 mile, 2015 FJR1300 when the dealerships were trying to make room for 2017 models and dropped the price to a point I could not pass up. Over the years I have added a Corbin...

Need to Quiet the Bike a Tad

This is the shop that made the exhaust for me: Mark's Performance Products Mark is a good, stand up guy. shop is his garage. He's a busy guy and you would need to drop your bike off for the pipes to be fitted and custom muffler made. He is in the high desert area of Hesperia, CA. Bill

Need to Quiet the Bike a Tad

None. I have not had anybody on back to confirm but it was built to not cook anyone on back. Not wanting to hijack post but was thinking about selling it. Bill. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

Need to Quiet the Bike a Tad

Small area for exhaust on these bikes The under the bike muffler location makes it very difficult to find a middle road for too loud or too quiet. Just can not fit a larger muffler under the bike. Seems you stay stock and too quiet or very loud aftermarket with stubby muffler. After having...

    FZ6r Too Heavy Question

When you first get it, it will feel heavy but after some time you will get used to it. I've dropped mine a couple times, once the weight gets leaning past a certain point is going over and all you can do is control the fall. I highly recommend frame sliders as replacement body plastic is...

    Install aftermarket exhaust in California

I Commute on my bike almost 100 a day. I work in downtown LA where there are tons of cops. Have been pulled over a couple times for dumb stuff like making a right on red when it was posted you can't or passing cars where it is posted no passing but no mention of the exhaust. I am always...

    Quieter helmet?

A German company named sheubert or something close makes a helmet billed as the quietest on the market - for $800. Almost got it then read it did not have much ventilation. Riding in SoCal during the summer that was not an option. Wear earplugs, don't risk hearing damage, it's not just an old...

    Marthy Exhaust Group

You won't regret it, Marthy does great work. Two thumbs up on the exhaust is not near enough. Splitting lanes now much easier in congested LA traffic.

    Extended Warranty question

I got an extended warranty when I got my bike. 5 years unlimited miles. I've put 40,000 on my bike in the first 2 years. I knew I would but a ton of miles so the extra cost was very justifiable.

may or may not have my 6r after this weekend

In California, it's a real pain, if not impossible to return a vehicle to the road after being salvaged. Found this out the hard way when my daughters car was "totaled" in a rear end accident. It was a 20 year old Honda Civic I bought for $800 at an auction. Spent some cash fixing it up and...

Any of you guys ever had a major mechanical failure with your 6r?

Met a guy couple weeks ago at the shop I take my ford excursion to. He put 180,000 miles on his r1 before trading it in for a newer model. Said he never had a problem with it.
