Hehe, speaking as a owner of the 2013 blue I can honestly say its a nice looking bike. I get a ton of compliments on the bike most specifically on the color. Its a lot deeper blue than in the pictures.
I will say its definitely something that you have to see outside in the light as its...
I too noticed that when I commute (its short 7 miles one way no highway per se) that I was getting in the thirties for the most part while keeping the revs low (4 -5k).
As I got back into riding it a bit more like I stole it, revs picked up, and interestingly enough so did the mileage. Just...
I agree with a few of the choices, the rest meh, some are niche items or brand items like the Harleys.
The 300 is dead on as its a nice bike that is positioned well and a hoot to ride. The Ducati is a great choice if you want a bike with soul and that Italian zing. As for the rest of them...
Well when its all said and done ($179.00 later) which is a freaking bargain in my opinion, the dealership got the bolt out without any fuss. The mechanic said he thinks the bolt bottomed out and had a flaw which caused the break.
I now have been been named Hercules, the Hulk, strong-arm, etc...
the thunk
My 2013 bike is a bit of a clunker when going into first. When I first got it, the transition from neutral to first was pretty mellow then after 300 or so miles its was fairly bad then quieted down again at around 800 miles or so when I noticed it wasn't as bad.
On a related...
Update
Had to take it to the shop after looking at the mounting position of the bolt and where it broke. It's broken off just inside the first thread.
After having a machinist toolmaker friend of mine take a look at it he thinks they might be able to get it out but hes worried about the...
Thanks
"To serve one's country is the highest of honors"
Thanks to all that serve, have served, and especially those that have given their lives for their country. I think sometimes that our country doesn't think on what has happened in our past or what our future holds but for the...
So I rendered my bike down to its simplest form today, that of a fairly large paperweight.
I was installing the T Rex frame sliders that I had just gotten and the bolt holding the cover on the clutch side snapped inside the block. Needless to say I am not happy and will not be buying...
So here I am the day BEFORE I get my frame sliders and spools, the weather is absolutely beautiful in an otherwise crappy looking week here in CT, so I decided to take a nice long relaxing ride.
An hour and 40 minutes later im coming down the exit ramp that I don't usually take to get home...
Helmet shape and size
We went to the International Motorcycle show in NY and wanted to hit up the helmet manufacturers for some info.
We stopped by the Arai booth and the gentlemen there measured us up and then told my friend that he was waaaaay off, he went from a Large HJC to a small...
Semi cold weather gloves
Up here in CT I use the Alpinestars C2 gloves for early spring and late fall riding.
They are windproof and good to somewhere in the mid 40's (1/2 hour or so) give or take. The gloves give a great feel with the windproof layer over the protective surfaces and...
Ouch
Ah I feel for you on that one. I lucked out today on I95 when the huge bumblebee impacted almost dead center of the visor. I'm still cleaning guts out of all the crevices and cracks.
Wasps, yellow jackets, and hornets are the absolute worst. They are just mean critters and have to...
I use the A*'s C2s for riding early spring and late fall here in CT and they work very well down into the low 40's or so. The wind proofing is excellent and my hands stayed warm last week for about 30 minutes or so at 40 degrees. They do tend to warm back up quick at even brief stops.
Hey all,
Just picked up a new 2013 blue/white FZ6R from the dealer today. Been a few years since I have ridden (20ish or so). Looking forward to riding again.
The forums here seem to be the right balance of fantastic information with a good sense of humor :) so I think i'll fit right...
