Need Help Recommendations for bike accessories and security, etc.

Here's a pic of the gear indicator so you can see where I installed it. It's not a very good pic because it's in 1st gear but the indicator looks like other numbers are showing up. It doesn't look that way in natural light. I will say that I love the gear indicator but not everyone likes the way...

Need Help Recommendations for bike accessories and security, etc.

Here are a couple pics. The front fork rebuild was new internals, so the forks look stock on the outside.

Congrats on the new ride! Sorry, I don't have the time to look up all the links, but here are the mods I've done to my 2014 FZ6R: Spiegler stainless steel brake lines (significantly improved braking response) Yamaha OEM Center Stand (you have to buy the kit through a Canadian Yamaha dealer)...

2009 FZ6R Steel Braided Brake Lines

I put Spiegler stainless steel brake lines on my bike last year. I am happy with how the install went and how they look. Braking response is noticeably improved.

    Gear indicator install

I went with the HealTech unit referenced in DannyByrd's post. Had good experience with it on another bike so stayed with what worked. I chose the red LED...no regrets.

    Front Brake Lines - Length

Spiegler is another option for stainless steel lines. That's what I put on my 2014 FZ6R (front and rear) and I am very happy with them.

FZ6R Riders Show us your baby!!

Throttle response was noticeably better, and a slight hesitation I had at 5k rpm was gone, but only gained a few horsepower through that process, so no power wheelies.

FZ6R Riders Show us your baby!!

Nice looking bike! Depends what kind of performance you want to improve. I added stainless steel brake lines, which improved braking performance. I had the forks rebuilt by Traxxion Dynamics and added a Penske rear shock, which significantly improved handling performance. My engine is stock, but...

    Aftermarket Seats

No advice on a new seat, but I had the same problem and found that wearing a jockstrap was a huge improvement in comfort.

    Fork oil height

The Yamaha service manual shows that as well.

    Hand Guards/Center Stand

I bought a Yamaha OEM centerstand for my 2014 FZ6R and love it, but they're not available in the U.S. I got mine through Kelly's Cycle Centre out of Hamilton, Ontario.

    Mod Suggestions

I went with the full system. Took a while to save up and even longer to talk my wife into letting me do it. :) Tried it with and without the DB killer...easy decision for me to run without, because I wanted it louder too. I'm very happy with it.

    Mod Suggestions

Appearance and sound mods I did include Luimoto seat cover, Puig rear mudguard, and Leo Vince underbody exhaust. That exhaust looks great and sounds even better.

    Question Exhaust

vcdstroyr, great point on the fuel controller. I forgot to mention in my previous post that installation of a Power Commander was done before they did the dyno tuning. Really nice improvement.

    Center stand for2016 FZ6R

I bought the OEM center stand a few years back. At that time, it was only available through Canadian dealers. Got mine through Kelly's Cycle Centre in Hamilton, Ontario.

Ear Plugs - who rides with them?

I got custom molded ear plugs through a local audiologist. They are the musician style plugs with different filters you can swap depending on how much protection you want. I wear them every time I ride. My 2nd bike is a Honda Goldwing and when my wife rides on that with me she also wears a set...

    Question Exhaust

Hey Marcis438, I was the OP of the previous discussion alaskanflyboy referenced in his reply. Eventually Leo Vince did confirm that their full underbody exhaust fits with the OEM center stand, which is what I have on my bike, so a couple months ago I bit the bullet and bought the Leo Vince...

    Fairing kit

I can't answer your fitment question, but I have used partzilla.com in the past to get parts for my 2014 FZ6R and their website appears to have all the plastic parts available for your bike. Check out the parts diagrams under "cowling 1" and "cowling 2". I would think you'll find what you need.
