I can see all th way to the part where you mention never using the camping gear "notice I never used it?" Was that the end or was there more?

ABQ - PDX via HWY 1

You're a little nutz....good stuff and thanks for the story. Did you lane split at all while in Cali? Impressions? I'm getting used to it and loving it. For future reference, you don't have to touch the fairing at all to gain access to the battery. Just unbolt the tank in all...

1,400 mile Tour: Up and Down Cali, Jan. '09 (PICS!)

In summary, I had a blast and I love California….but touring in the winter when the days are short has its drawbacks. My wife had fun and didn’t complain even after the miles ticked past 300 per day and even when we got wet. Next time I ride down to SD I’m doing it during the warmer months when...

1,400 mile Tour: Up and Down Cali, Jan. '09 (PICS!)

DAY THREE (of riding): We had some wet and super foggy weather in the morning so we had to take more slab then we wanted but at least we made good time. We definitely had some great sections of road later in the day but were disappointed that we could not cut through the Los Padres National...

1,400 mile Tour: Up and Down Cali, Jan. '09 (PICS!)

I got back from a little road trip this past Saturday. All in I did about 1,400 miles during 4 days of actual riding. The first two were on the way down to visit family in San Diego and the second two were with my wife on the back heading home. Here is the approximate route I took...

Trackday High Res pics - Buttonwillow - 12/6/08

Not familiar w/ this track but there are lots of 100+ MPH turn opportunities out there...just gotta twist the throttle :D Does your bike really start to fall off at 110MPH??? Not that this is a problem...it just surprises me. They let you choose what group you're in?

Yup and $75 in CA probably goes as far as $20 in NC.

I always ran around 30 to 32 on my pilot powers per the michelen reps recommendations...interesting. I never crashed or had any problems with them but they started sliding around at a midpack 'I' pace. TrackdayMag - Michelin Pilot Power and Pilot Power 2CT Tires

    Suzuki SV1000S...???

Ducati Multistrada....you know you'll spend the difference in cost on modding the SV anyway...the Multi will be da bomb straight from the showroom floor :D A modded SV could never be the touring machince that the Multi is.

    08 Ninja 250 Questions

You could get a stripped down first gen SV650S down to around the same weight and would have a much better powerplant with endless modification options and spare parts galore. They are cheap and easy on tires from what I understand. Just throwing it out there...

Signed up for my first trackday! Hellz Yeahz

I'm tall and thin so to get mine tight I had to get a 38. If I stand up straight it gives me a wedgie (SP?) but fits perfect when I'm on the bike...it feels like having a sweat suit on or something: perfect. I say return the field armor and get a real chest/back protector. Oh btw, that is...

Contact the track day organization, not us. Get something that zips together or get a 1-piece IMO. Also, $200 is high...I paid $400 even for my 1-piece and it is the most comfortable piece of gear I own (so long as I'm not standing up straight :D)

FZ6 around the country - a planning thread

with my 8 years in the midwest, I fully agree with you, it DOES blow for the most part...you just have to know where to go. I was blown away by WI though (only select parts). I can't wait to get out of here next week...I'm not a flat-lander at all!!! I grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY at the...

FZ6 around the country - a planning thread

Not sure what you're trying to say. My point is that the back roads directly west of Madison, WI are some of the best I've ever seen in the country (run-off, sight lines, surface quality, traffic, police, flow, etc. etc.) and worth hitting if in the area already. I've heard OH is pretty epic...
