I got myself a top box, that's perfect size for my helmet and is secure to the bike, so I usually leave my helmet in the box and just walk around with my gear on or shoved into a back pack.

A good friend of mine worked at the dealership I purchased it from, otherwise they wanted upwards or more of 9k on it. So for those who didn't try hard enough to lower the price, I can see why to them 6k is justifiable.

Syncing the throttle bodies helps dramatically, at least for me. I too average about 160 miles before the reserve, then after a smooth freeway ride I averaged 120 before fuel bar flashed so I did sync the throttle bodies and changed the oil, then I re averaged 170 the next ride.

Did it myself and had have no problems 20,000 miles later. Besides I used the $260 they were going to charge me and spent 30 of it on new fluids and oil filter and a new helmet.
