What did you do to your bike today?

Didn't ride today, but got my new PA tag with Veteran designation. Got one for the car too, but the plate didn't get here yet.

What did you do to your bike today?

Had a chilly ride into work (20 mile commute around 50 degrees), but beautiful ride home (around 80 degrees). Only second time this year the weather and temps cooperated so I could ride into work. Felt good!

    weather...

Here in eastern PA supposed to be 65 tomorrow and almost 80 Monday and Tuesday. Taking the bike to work. Last time out was February during the warm snap. Too chilly in AM for me lately even though afternoon temps were decent.

    What would you do?

I think at that mileage and due to the accidents and the fact that you have another bike I'd part it out. You can stand to make way more then $1000 if you part it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

Looking for a PCV + maps

The power commander bypasses your bikes stock ECU and allows you to select or make better fuel maps. Different exhausts and other engine changes will affect how your bike receives and burns fuel. The PC5 can custom map your fuel to get the most out of your modifications. Tuning properly can add...

What did you do to your bike today?

Same here, got her out for that nice weather and weather went to hell soon after. Looks like its about to start getting nice finally, but not nearly warm enough for my commute. Can run out for some day trips though.

    2012 FZ6R Speedometer/Tach Dead

There are different wires for tach input and gauge lights. Don't know which wire offhand, but believe all are accessible under the gas tank. Possible that some critter got in there and chewed a wire. Not sure which wire inputs to speedo. There is a speed sensor wire which is tapped if running...

Do I need to change oil

I wouldn't change the oil yet. I changed mine right before storing. Makes a slight difference I'm told if you use conventional oil. Conventional oil breaks down whereas synthetic doesn't. Still after only 2 months either way you will be fine.

    Rear tire hugger?

I actually found one that looks the same as yours, although I don't think it is Yamaha branded. It's about $135 after exchange rate or £110. It's via a UK company called red fox or something along those lines.

    Rear tire hugger?

Do you have links to that particular tire hugger? I can't seem to find it online. It does cover quite a bit more then the puig tire hugger.

Need to Quiet the Bike a Tad

Yeah, I think most cans on our bike are similar in volume. I listen to music so I guess I don't notice it as much. Have flowmaster exhaust and hedman headers/CAI on my truck so I am used to loud.

Need to Quiet the Bike a Tad

I have a db killer for my Viper, but don't use it. It actually robs some of the power your exhaust added. Open exhaust = more hp. I always listen to music with my sena 20s so I guess it just doesn't seem that loud to me. Or I am going deaf. LOL! Just kidding I get hearing tests yearly for my job.

    Help adding more power fz6r

Full/open exhaust, fz6 throttle bodies (because hey why not while you're in there), fz6 cams and throw in the timing trigger mod, airbox mod (because hey your bike is already apart) and add a PC5 if you don't have one. I have a decent base map for fz6 cams with airbox mod and open exhaust. Dyno...

    Help adding more power fz6r

3rd this! Definitely the best bang for the buck, especially if you change to fz6 throttle bodies and get a proper tune. I didn't do the throttle bodies yet, but I will and need a good tune to get the most out of it. Marthy's cam map is good until I get a dyno tune. This mod is not for the faint...

    Woodcraft Clip-Ons

Well you weigh a lot less then I do and have less miles. Not sure why it would feel so spongy then. You can upgrade the fork components though (springs and oil). It should feel a little different, because it does change you body angle a little, but shouldn't make your forks spongy. Make sure...

    Woodcraft Clip-Ons

I've had woodcraft clip-ons for 3 or so years and don't think my front end feels spongy. How much do you weigh and how many miles on your bike? If you dropped one fork even slightly lower then the other it can and will affect performance making it unstable. You could always upgrade the fork...

What's the best handlebar setup you've used on the FZ6R?

almost any bar setup can cause the controls to contact the tank. You have to adjust controls to clear the tank and mirror mounts before committing to their location. I adjust my controls so that they don't contact any part of my bike and can turn my bars lock to lock.

I may make something to hold them facing forward. I'll figure a way to mount them. Thanks for the link. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

I may find a way to mount them up front. I like the led strips, but I'd like something brighter. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
