If you will be away for several months, can your wife or a friend accomplish the long-term storage procedure outlined in the bike owner's manual (Chapter 8)? Otherwise, maybe just do an oil change anyway due to the corrosive environment in Florida.. Metal things are not happy in that salty/...
Yep, that is the exact fairing in question.. I think you are right.. It looks like the body fairings receive structural support from the black triangular one..
I am lone ranger here, so maybe the centerstand deal would be wise at home, but when crosscountry do a gross fluid check behind the fairing.. Does anyone leave that front small black fairing off fulltime? Or would the air load on the fairings it is attached to present a problem?
I agree with the whole 'big bike, little **' theory. Maybe a chick shouldn't be answering this post, but listen up:
What a joy this bike is! I traded in my 1100 CC cruiser for a bike that banks hard like an awesome, aerobatic airplane through the twisting mountain roads of Colorado. I can...
Thanks.. Yeah, the Givi U.S. rep e-mailed & said that they do not have anything that matches FZ6R frame specs. So..maybe fabricate, or alter an off the shelf mount to get hardcases to fit or do Cortech?
I think I will go for the hardbag setup with the Motech mounts. I had Cortech bags on my cruiser for a short while then ended up switching to hardbags anyway.
Dumb question, but looking at a previous thread on baggage: Any mounting spec differences between the FZ6 v. the FZ6R? Thanks.
Many thanks!
The dealer's input was that they use 'racing' fuel to top off the bike when they send a customer out the door. The dude said that the burn rate of this fuel was higher..
I just got my '09 bike yesterday here in Denver. Does it need to be "jetted" for our altitude? Or is that a non-player for a fuel-injected motor?
I ask because I left the dealer with a full fuel tank (at least according to the fuel quantity indicator), & after only riding 50 miles, the fuel...
