Congrats! I hope you have many fun days and nights on the bike!:Sport:
I just got Amber about six months ago (actually 6 mos. today). On my first day, I rode the bike home approx. 70 miles. Then, I hopped back on and rode 30 RT to Cycle Gear. So, 100 miles total on the first day. Since then...
6 months = approx 8500 miles on the 6R.
I started riding dirt bikes when I was 12 or 13. When I was 18, I bought one of those little YSR's. I rode for about six months before I :wreck:then went 20 years without a bike (had kids).
Thanks to all that responded so far!
No, I haven't had any issues that weren't my fault (I blew a fuse after leaving wires untidy from my intergrated tail light install). As far as maintainance, I'll admit that I have failed. :spank: I'm changing the oil, and cleaning/lubing the chain this...
I normally browse the forum from the background, and I have enjoyed everyone's input. Although, this time I have to share a bit of a milestone for my bike...the 10,000 mile mark!

I bought the bike with around 4500 miles on it back...
Yea, I'll admit I was a squid at one point in my life. Before the helmet law here in CA, I was on the freeway doin' 80 with no helmet, a tee-shirt, and shorts. Although, I was still just a kid (about 19), it was squidish to say the least!
I feel your joy as well OP! Two days ago I took my wife for a ride for the first time. She was thrilled and now understands my passion for riding!! :D
